I’m probably a bit early in writing, since technically it’s not Sunday but if you’re overseas then sure it is…I guess I felt like getting started early for once. To continue on the path that I have been going, especially in writing these mini personal stories, I’ve had to do some eye-opening understanding of myself and my wants, needs, desires. Surely just writing about the good, bad and ugly would be easy enough to do but let’s be real. Sometimes we really want to dive in deep and get to the nitty-gritty of things.
One of these things that I have been doing in order to figure out myself is the opening of who I am to people, especially in a manner that probably is shocking to others or maybe not so much. I wrote about it previously here and would like to continue with it. I am an openly sexual person. If it comes as a shock to anyone, well…whoops, was I supposed to wear a sign? Sex to me in relation to Second Life hasn’t really ever been a taboo. It’s just always been there, probably because when I came into Second Life it was just something that was. You come into a place where everything you want to do is right in front of you and you can just reach out and grab it (unlike most things that are in the real world.) So going to strip clubs (I was NEVER a stripper…not sure how I managed that), checking out the seedy BDSM places or even just randomly tping into a club – sex in Second Life is everywhere.
Luckily, for myself – I turned my “sexual” cravings into a more fitting realm. Writing helped. Just like now, role-playing opened up other doors into a new Second Life sexual awakening. Instead of the graphical nature of bumping avatars, words took over. Every character I created never strayed from my exploration. If I wanted to try something, as long as it fit the storyline, “she” got to experience it, whether good old fashioned sex, fucking, or non-consent (of course consented via IMs…storyline people…). Throughout my time, I got to enjoy writing with some really amazing and stimulating people. Sex for once wasn’t just about getting your rocks off, but a mind fuck instead. Words can blow a person’s mind. Especially those who know how to really tap into it.
So what now? Role-play has taken a back burner and sex in Second Life is still whirling around us night and day, a continuous cycle, even if the majority of us ignore it. But why? I always wondered to myself why it seemed to be such a “taboo” in this community. Sure a lot of us go over to the “sex” clubs such as Elysion or The Chamber, but I wonder if you’ll be able to look at your fellow “person” and say “Hey, want to go do this?” especially when so many people go “Oh my god, did you hear so and so fucked or has been fucking so and so?” Pfft. Get over it. There is nothing wrong with sex. Being private is great, and I do so myself, but one thing – don’t hide your human nature, cause really…sex is a lot of fun.
